What Are Press-On Nails?
Press-on nails are pre-shaped artificial nails you can apply at home using nail glue or adhesive tabs. They give salon-quality results in minutes without salon cost or time.
Step 1: Proper Nail Preparation
- Clean your nails: Remove old polish and nail oils.
- Push back cuticles: Create a clear surface so the press-on sits flush.
- Lightly buff: Gently roughen the nail surface to improve adhesion.
- Dehydrate nails: Wipe with alcohol to remove moisture and oils.
Good prep is the foundation of long-lasting press-on nails.
Step 2: Choose the Correct Size
Match each press-on to your natural nail. It should cover the nail fully without touching skin. If in between sizes, choose slightly smaller and file if necessary.
Step 3: Apply Adhesive
✔ Glue Method: Apply a small amount on both your natural nail and the back of the press-on.
✔ Adhesive Tabs: If using tabs, place them firmly on your nail first then press on.
Step 4: Press & Hold
Position the press-on near the cuticle at a slight angle, then press down firmly for 10–30 seconds. Ensure no air bubbles are trapped.
Final Touches
Shape and file any edges for your desired finish. Apply cuticle oil to moisturize around the nail.
Avoid water for at least 1–2 hours to let adhesive fully set
